Bob Becker’s Bio
Bob Becker was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, received a B.A. in Biology from Yale University in ‘83 and a Masters in Education from Washington University in ’90. Bob is an outstanding national Chemistry demonstrator and high school teacher from Kirkwood, MO. He has published two books of demonstrations, available together with a videotape through Flinn Scientific. Bob has received the James Bryant Conant Award in High School Teaching from the American Chemical Society, the Regional Catalyst Award from the Chemical Manufacturers Association, and the Tandy Technology Scholar Award for Outstanding Teachers.
He has been honored as the Reg Friesen Memorial Lecturer at CHEMED, and has twice presented the Flinn Scientific Evening of Chemistry at the National Science Teachers Association conference. Bob was also named the 2010-2011 Kirkwood Teacher of the Year, and the 2010-2011 Missouri State Teacher of the Year. He was one of three Missouri finalists for the 2012 Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.
