“Weird Science® on Fuels and Energy”
Weird Science on Fuels and Energy is a fast paced, interactive series of live chemistry-based experiments demonstrating chemical and physical phenomena which will be uniquely presented to middle and high school students.
Lee Marek from the University of Illinois will be presenting this dynamic learning experience, which is not only highly entertaining, but features science in a new and interesting light for students. Its success is in its appeal to most of the senses: sight, sound, smell and touch.
This event is free and open to schools and the public
WHEN: November 15 & 16, 2016
WHERE: Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall
Marek, a chemistry teacher at the University of Illinois, has appeared on national television programs such as Inside Edition and the once popular David Letterman Show and has also performed in the US Congress on Capitol Hill.
Lee takes audience participation to a new level as intrigued students are called on stage to assist with scientific experiments to highlight basic principles of energy, pressure volume, chemical reactions and more.
For many of your students, there is a future scientist hiding inside longing to develop. Help inspire these promising students and build a basic understanding and awareness for chemistry for all. Attend this exciting event and see science in a new light.
